Where can I go for the best saltwater shore fishing ?

The Florida Keys in my option is by far the best place for the saltwater shore angler to catch a wide variety of truly large fish. There are multiple ways to fish from shore in the keys. You have access to large grass flats no more than one to three feet deep. In these areas you can target bonefish, permit, jacks and a wide variety of different species including sharks. You can fly fish or use traditional spinning gear. There are many places you can access the water is relative privacy. Wade fishing these areas can provide the most fun of all form of fishing. The mother lode of the shore fishing in the Florida Keys is done by one of the many bridges. Bridges are where the where the whole chain comes together. Barnacles and other small crustaceans attach to the pilings of the bridge. Small fish like Sheephead, Grunts and Snappers feed on these creatures. Bigger fish come in to feed on the smaller fish. The water current in these areas is quite fast. To keep your bait on the bottom you will need to have heavy weights. Three ounces or more is needed depending on just how fast the current is when you are fishing. Fishing the bridges is primarily a live bait exercise. For large quantities of fish nothing beats a live shrimp. You can catch anything and everything from a small grunt to a Tarpon weighing over one hundred pounds. Larger baits will eliminate the smaller fish and the trouble of continuously taking them off you hook.
