Where can I get my saltwater fishing license?

There are many places you can obtain a saltwater fishing license. Of course each different state has a different set of places to obtain a license from. Most states allow you to purchase your fishing license online. Using a search engine like Google you should simply type the name of the state you intend to fish and search for the department of natural resources. Most of the state sites are quite easy to navigate. You can more often than not pay for your license with a credit card and print it up on your printer for immediate use. Make sure you purchase the correct license. States offer fishing licenses for various time spans. They also have freshwater and saltwater licenses and licenses designed for residents and out of state fishermen. You also need to be aware on any stamps or additions to your license for specific species of fish. Florida for instance has additional licensing that must be purchase to keep Snook and Tarpon. A second source for license purchase is the local bait and tackle store. If you are unsure which license to buy this is often your best choice. When you go to a bait store you will be talking to a salesman who is quite knowledgeable in this area. He will listen to your needs and provide you with the required licensing. Finally you have the big box department stores. Most Wal-Mart stores carry the proper licenses for the state they are located in. Unlike the local bait store however you cannot expect the same high level of knowledgeable service.
