Texas Charters

How do I pick from all of the saltwater charters in Texas?

Choosing a saltwater charter boat captain in Texas is much like choosing just about anything to purchase in life. If you do the proper research and know ahead of time what you are looking for the experience will be much better than if you make an uninformed decision. I would start by defining just what type of fishing trip you are seeking. You can fish the shallow grass flats, anchor over a wreck, travel far from shore and deep sea fish or a variety of other fishing trips. Consider also how many people will be coming on the fishing trip and what comfort level you is seeking. Some boats are bigger than others and some offer more in the way of conveniences than other boats offer. The internet is a great tool for evaluating potential charter boats. Start by getting a list of charter captains who advertise on the internet. Then narrow your list down by doing a search on each prospective captain. Read what customers have said about these charter boats. I would not consider a captain who received a few good reviews automatically great but you can eliminate those who have a pattern of poor reviews. The final step is contacting the captain, by phone, and asking him about his services. Tell him what kind of fishing trip you want and listen to how he replies. Treat the process much like a job interview. As a customer you are in a sense an employer. Listen to what each captain says about his service and choose the one that fits your needs best
