Saltwater Fishing Lures – What Are the Best Lures?

* Jerk Baits have no natural movement, but when they are handled properly, they can look very much like wounded fish and attract prey effectively. Jerk bait is very popular and effective.

* Soft baits are a kind of rubber bait available in different shapes and designs as well as various colors. They are used for both salt and fresh water fishing, can be utilized much like a plug to be kept at a specific depth, and can mimic live bait if you handle them like jerk bait on a jig head that is weighted.

These are only a handful of the many types of saltwater fishing lures available to you. It is likely, though, that just about any angler that you meet will have a combination of these lures in their tackle box and will use them according to the fish they are trying to catch.

In addition to the aforementioned lure, every saltwater fisherman should come prepared. When saltwater fishing, rods are stressed considerably. From two to three rods should be prepared and ready to go, depending on whether you are fishing the bank or from a boat and the type fish you are after. Look for quality in your saltwater fishing rod rather than on the price tag.

Using one big box for your flies eliminates the constant search for what you need. One relatively flat box with a see though cover will allow optimum organization and ease of access. If you want to carry a few extras, just putting them in your pocket in a zipper bag will suffice.

No matter what fish you want to catch, a little extra planning and consideration can maximize your fishing experience. Saltwater fishing lures should be carefully chosen. Do not look over the benefit of being specific in your need. But, be versatile at the same time. With a bit of extra planning, and a trip to your local tackle shop, you will have all that you need.
