Since fish can smell so good, is there any sunscreen or sunblock that wont repel them away?
Sunscreen or sun block pose a definite problem to the fisherman. It is essential that you use one of these products if you wish to protect your skin from harmful ultraviolet rays. The problem is that these products are highly detectable to fish and will definitely turn them away from your line. Fortunately there are steps you can take. I know of no particular product that both offers significant protection from the sun and is also not able to be detected by the fish. We must therefore find a way to use the existing products in a manner that minimizes the damage caused. I like to use sun screen that comes in an aerosol spray form. When using this product you do not need to put it on your hands and rub it into your skin. I have found that if you can keep your hands clean of this product you will minimize the damage it causes to your fishing quality. After spraying liberal amount of it on the exposed areas of my body I wash my hands to make sure any residue is removed. It is important that you use a sportsman’s soap for this purpose. There are several brands of soap designed specifically for fishermen that will not leave an odor on your hands that is detectable. By taking the steps outlined above you will make your fishing trip most rewarding. By protecting yourself from the harmful rays of the sun without harming your fishing quality you get the best of both worlds.

There isnt a good sunblock specific for fishing but we are making one!
