Fishing Line

Category: Uncategorized

hi my name is andre. i would like too know what is the best salt water fishing line too use? im using a med action pol and real. please right back too me? thank you for your time

Your choice of line is really dependant on the type of fishing you are attempting. For reef fishing in saltwater I recommend using a braided or power line. These lines do not have as much stretch as other lines exhibit. This will help you prevent fish from taking your line into the reef itself and cutting it on the jagged edges of the reef. These lines also are much more difficult to cut for the times the fish is able to reach the reef with your line. Fluorocarbon line is another excellent salt water fishing line to use. In most places saltwater is extremely clear. The advantage of fluorocarbon lines lies in its invisibility. It is roughly twice as hard to detect in clear water as monofilament line. This is very important when fishing for wary species such as Tarpon or Bonefish. Monofilament is an all purpose line that has its place when fishing saltwater areas that are not extreme. For most areas though you need to match the line to the type of fishing. Line color is important as well. Studies have shown that when fishing saltwater with a depth greater than three feet the color red is more difficult to detect than even a somewhat clear line. If you are fishing for a species such as Shark or Barracuda then the choice of line becomes more a question of what leader to use. These fish have very large and very sharp teeth. Much more so than any fish you will encounter in fresh water. For Sharks I like to use braided wire to combat their teeth.
