The earlier the fish feed in the morning, the more likely you will be
to get a few good bites later in the day about dusk.
Try a pancake weight to cover more territory and let your rig move more
naturally in the current. Bait with small shrimp, pieces of
bloodworm, or squid. Be sure to pay some extra attention to
the drop off where the waves break on the edge of the sand, and you are
very likely to find sea mullet, pompano, spot, and flounder who have
come up to find the bait fish that tend to congregate in these areas.
It is also a good idea to take some time to talk to the locals and
visit some of the bait and tackle shops in the areas in which you plan
to fish. Relying on the people who fish these areas regularly
will definitely put you in the right areas, and point you in the right
direction as far as bait and techniques are concerned, because they
really can vary from day to day and location to location.
