Black Drum   The black drum is considered an inshore fish making it popular because they can be fished whether you have a boat or not. Many anglers prefer shore fishing and this species thrive in the shallow waters close to shore. They can also be found in bays and marches and areas with muddy bottoms. Another place to find them will be around lagoons and bays.
 
Its natural food source is crabs, mussels, oysters and crustaceans. One reason the black drum is one of the top 5 saltwater species is because anyone can enjoy fishing for them regardless of their skill level.
