Safety is of the utmost importance when tuna fishing. You have to be

rough, you might be better off turning around and docking until the
next day. Make sure that you have all the radio gear and safety
equipment onboard before you set out on the water. If you see a crowd
of boats, go somewhere by yourself. The fish will be more apt to come
to an area without so much confusion and it is safer without all those
lines around you.
Experiment with different techniques for catching tuna. You need to
change it up a bit when you are tuna fishing. If you are not having any
luck, try different direction, speed, spacing, color, size and rigs.
You might have to try a different time of day than you did before.
There are so many variables to consider before you give up and go home
empty handed. Make sure that you try different baits before giving up
