Do they make special lures for saltwater fishing?

There are lures of every type imaginable for both fresh and saltwater fishing, and there are lures that will work quite well for either fresh or salt water fishing.  The main difference in fishing gear expressly for salt water fishing is that it tends to be formulated in a manner where exposure to salt will not harm it.  Salt water gear is heavier duty and uses anti-corrosive, weather proof parts.  Lures are made to entice the particular fish you are after by mimicking their natural food sources or using features that have been proven to attract their interest and induce them to bite.

The best way to determine which lure works best is to base your choices on where, and for what type fish you will be fishing.  Are you night or day fishing?  What time of year is it?  What are the conditions of the water in which you will be fishing?  Do you plan to fish mainly top water or surf?  Do you rely most heavily on plugs or jigs?

When saltwater fishing, consider the following:
• 3 ½ ounce white swimmer Danny Plug
• 2 ½ ounce white Darter
• J30, Rebel Fast Track in a mackerel pattern
• 3 ounce silver-blue Kastmaster Crystal Minnow
• Yo-Zuri Crystal Minnow
• B2 Squid
• Gibbs Pencil Popper
• Crippled herring

Once you have given this a little thought, you will just naturally choose the saltwater lure that will work best for you.  It is a good thing there are many to choose from, so everyone can find something that works well.
