I used them in florida april of this year and brought home 28 spanish mackrel. they are not only good for bait fish. jig them and you might be suprised. have fun.

I am going for a short vacation to the coast and they have a dock at the waterway. Can I use my freshwater rod and reel for some occasional fishing or will it not work? What size line and tackle do I need? Thanks

I am wanting to fish from Ft. Desoto Pier. I am trying to find out what would be the best way to use fishing glow sticks. I have some ideas, what would you choose for the best way to catch anyting other than a catfish. I will be useing 6″ glow sticks.

Although taste is a matter of “taste” I would say that of the tastiest fish there are in Florida, the first being wahoo, grilled on the barbie like a fine steak, then comes dolphinfish or the name used in Hawaii and on the West Coast mahi-mahi, fondly called the chicken of the sea. Its Latin name is Coryphaena hippurus. Then hognose snapper (not really a snapper) followed by the snapper family. I’ve eaten and love swordfish but on a number of occasions I’ve had an allergic reaction to it so I’ve kept away. High up there, after Wahoo is a cold water Pacific fish that I’ve caught and thoroughly enjoy is halbut. Eat fish, live longer!

Dan,merry christmas and a safe new year.
We started a handline barracuda bash on the island of isla mujeres,mexuco off cancun.It was a way to help the locals make a few extra dollars.Well its beed 15 years this jan.21-22
What we do is troll for barracuda with a handline,no pole,whaen the cuda hits its you and him.
Well we would like to entry world records barracuda wuth a handline,can it be done?
We use the same line and ,leader that is used with a pole.
You see we catch barracuda 23 or more pounds at our bash in mexico.

I wrote you a while back about an unusual bone i had found on the beach. I live in Destin, Florida on the nw coast. You asked me to write you back about the bone i had found. I have been told that it is a marlin bill. Very interesting. anyway i just wanted to let you know. Thank you
