Charter Questions

What are some of the questions I should ask before booking a charter?

Each charter company is different and because of that it is always best to clarify any questions that you may have before you actually go on the trip.  For example, you should ask if a deposit is required to book the trip and if there is a deposit how much is it.

Other questions to ask include whether or not the charter company provides the equipment you need, or if you will be required to provide all of the equipment you want and need.  Additionally, if you are planning on taking children make sure that it is acceptable with the company.  There are some companies who do not allow children and others who welcome children with open arms.  Make sure you know if the kids will be welcome before you book the trip.

Of course, questions about what if any food and beverages are provided should be addressed as well.  You will need to know exactly what you are getting for your money.  While on the subject of money, make sure you are perfectly clear on the cancellation policy for the company.  Never assume that it is unnecessary information, after all emergencies do occur and knowing the cancellation policy up front can help you plan accordingly.  At the same time, you should also ask what forms of payment are accepted.  While the old adage that cash is king used to apply, many businesses no longer accept cash and still others do not take credit cards.  Make sure you know how to pay for your trip as well.

With the right questions you trip can be a huge success and a lot of fun!
