Can you share some good shark fishing tips with me?

There are several steps you can take to make your next shark fishing trip a more rewarding experience. The use of chum bags will perhaps be the best addition any shark fisherman can make to his arsenal of weapons. Chumming and sharks go together like peanut butter and jelly. A shark more than nay other fish uses its sense of smell to feed. Chum bags can be home made if you have a chum grinder or other piece of equipment that will chop large amounts of fish into small particles. You can also buy commercially prepared chum bags at most saltwater bait stores. The key concept to consider when chumming is to create a chum slick. A chum slick is created by allowing frozen chum to slowly melt into the water. As it melts the particles are taken by the current of the water and act as a sort of advertising to fish in an and around the area. Some sharks can follow a chum scent from over a mile away. When chumming the key is to create an uninterrupted chum slick. Sharks will follow a chum slick in search of the source of the blood and small particles of fish. If the chum slick is discontinued the effect will be useless. You therefore need to constantly monitor your chum bag and replace the chum before it has melted completely rather than waiting for it to disintegrate before replacing it. Keep the chum bag in a mesh bag within a steel cage. It is not uncommon for a shark to come right up to your boat to attack the chum cage.
