The answer to this question depends on what kind of fishing you will be doing. You can fish for fish ranging from one to two hundred pounds in saltwater. You will need a variety of hook sizes as you will be suing many different live types of bait. You will also need a variety of different weights to keep your bait near the bottom. Sometimes when fishing a pier you will need a three ounce weight to hold the bait in place. When fishing a shallower shoreline however a simple split shot will suffice. An aerated bucket to keep your bait alive is also very important. When you fish saltwater from shore you will be using baits like shrimp, pilchards, pinfish and blue crabs.
