I go fishing every year in ocean isle in June. They have a pier there and every year i watch the old timers from 6:00 A.M. till about 8:00 a.m. p/u Trout with live shrip but they won’t tell ya were to get them because the bait houses don’t have live shrip yet. I live in south florida, palm beach area. Im from up north where mostly i would fish rivers and lakes for trout and bass. I have been trying to catch some saltwater fish here in florida wih no luck. Im using live or frozen minnows, from a pier or jetty, also ive been trying some jigs. Ive been trying for about 2 weeks with no luck at all. What am i doing wrong?

I don’t have a boat, but I want to learn to fish from the shore of the ocean. What do I need, and how do I cast, etc?
