Inshore fishing gear

Category: Uncategorized

Hi Dan, I am new to fishing in the US having recently moved here, although fished mainly rivers in the UK for most of my life. We are going to Fort Morgan Alabama on vacation in September and want to do some fishing. We are intending to go out on a Charter, where the gear is provided, but my question is mainly about gear for fishing in Mobile Bay probably shore or pier although renting a boat is not out of the question. Could you give me an idea what I should be looking for Rods, Reels, Bait, Rigs etc…..Thanks Dan keep up the good work.

Furniture Polish on fishing equipment.

Category: Uncategorized

I heard on another fishing show instead of putting water on your guides and reels to put furniture polish on them. Will this make the line smell the next time i go fishing and scare the fish away?

I live on florida’s gulf coast. I walk the beach often. I have found a peice of bone and I am trying to find out what sort of fish it has come from. It looks like part of the upperjaw bone of a marlin. I have a picture that I could send you. I will try to discribe it since you can not view photos in this format. It is only a peice. approx 3 inches wide but has a spear looking shape down the center that is approx 1 inch diameter. the pecie seems to have been cut to make it only 3 inches wide. I think this because the sides of the peice are jagged. the tip of the “spear head” has been broken off and it only extend 2 1/2 inches past the wider peice. it resembles a rectangle shape wish an angel on the end where this spear shape protrudes. Did I explain it so you can understand? I have looked up bone structures on marlins but haven’t had much luck. Could you possibly help me? I could send you the picture if you could send me an alternate address? thank you, Beth Floridayungblood@aol.com Floridayungblood@yahoo.com Floridayungblood@hotmail.com
